Lyophilized research material

Testagen: product details and research reference

Testagen is a short peptide of four amino acids: Lys-Glu-Asp-Gly, or KEDG. It is one of the short peptide bioregulators from Khavinson's group in St Petersburg. We supply it as a 20MG lyophilized research vial.

Testagen differs from epitalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) only at the first amino acid. Our vials are made for labs that need clear 20MG labels, a stated sequence and clean vials. We back them with product documents and internal QA review, and our own team ships every order with care.

What the research covers

The Testagen record is small. PubMed indexes about ten papers on it. Nearly all come from Khavinson's network. The work uses birds, cells, cell-free tests and computer models. All of it is lab and animal work.

  • Cell uptake and nuclear localization.
  • Peptide binding to DNA and histones.
  • Gene-regulatory and chromatin models.
  • Transporter docking studies.

A 2011 study added labeled Testagen, epitalon and pinealon to HeLa cells. All three showed up in the cytoplasm, the nucleus and the nucleolus. In cell-free tests, Testagen seemed to prefer DNA stretches that contain CAG (Fedoreyeva et al., 2011).

A 2013 study reported that the peptide bound four wheat histones: H1, H2B, H3 and H4 (Fedoreyeva et al., 2013). A 2023 computer study grouped KEDG with the strongest binders at the LAT1, LAT2 and PEPT1 transporters (Khavinson et al., 2023). No study we found has measured its transport.

The one paper from outside this network is materials chemistry. It tested Testagen on copper in a salt solution and reported about 86% corrosion inhibition (Dobriţescu et al., 2025). It asks no biological question.

How we check quality

A short-peptide product needs more than a name and a vial. Sequence, strength, vial look, documents, label accuracy, storage needs, packing and shipping all matter.

  • Clear 20MG strength labels.
  • Clear sequence identity.
  • Finished vial checks.
  • Document and label review.
  • Storage needs review.
  • Internal QA before release.
  • In-house shipping, with no anonymous 3PL.

Documentation and research handling

Retain the product label and lot number with the research record. Review the matching certificate of analysis for test coverage and reported results. Identity, analytical purity, measured content, sterility and endotoxin testing are distinct assessments; one does not establish the others.

Follow the supplied label and your laboratory’s validated handling and storage procedures. Record the vehicle, concentration and preparation date where relevant. Dry-material stability does not establish the shelf life of a prepared solution.

Product questions

What does the vial quantity describe?

The listed milligrams refer to material per vial, not concentration or administration instructions. A prepared solution has its own concentration and stability requirements. Verify the exact selected option and shipping lot.

Where is the batch-specific evidence?

Open the linked certificate for the assigned lot or use the COA portal. Check sample identity, methods, date and reported measurements. A report for another lot or formulation is not a substitute.
