TA-1, or thymosin alpha 1, is a 28-amino-acid thymic peptide. It suits labs that need clear strength labels and a stated total content. It is made to standards, with clean capsules. We back it with internal QA review and documents, and our own team ships every order.
| Compound | TA-1 / Thymosin Alpha-1. |

Thymosin alpha 1 has a much larger literature than most research peptides. PubMed holds about 960 records across its name variants.
The peptide was first isolated from calf thymus and sequenced in 1977. It is heat stable and highly acidic. It is one of several peptides in a calf thymus mixture called thymosin fraction 5 (Goldstein et al., 1977). Later work in rat thymus found a longer precursor, prothymosin alpha. It carries the TA-1 sequence at its start (Haritos et al., 1984).
In water, the peptide has no fixed shape. In detergent micelles it folds into a helix, with a break near residues 9 and 14 (Nepravishta et al., 2015). It is not the same as thymosin beta-4, a separate 43-amino-acid peptide.
In a 2004 study, dendritic cells were exposed to a fungus in culture. With TA-1, the authors reported cell maturation and more interleukin-12. The signal ran through MyD88 and Toll-like receptors (Romani et al., 2004). A 2006 follow-up linked it to interleukin-10 and regulatory T cells (Romani et al., 2006).
A capsule product needs more than a basic listing. Identity, strength and capsule consistency matter. So do total content, documents, labels, storage, packing and shipping.
Capsulated Thymosin Alpha-1 research guide
Primary research relevant to the named compound or clearly identified component is linked below. Experimental results depend on identity, model and formulation.
Reported different responses under viral versus bacterial stimulation. Immune effects should not be summarized as uniformly stimulatory.
Retain the product label and lot number with the research record. Review the matching certificate of analysis for test coverage and reported results. Identity, analytical purity, measured content, sterility and endotoxin testing are distinct assessments; one does not establish the others.
Follow the supplied label and your laboratory’s validated handling and storage procedures. Record the vehicle, concentration and preparation date where relevant. Dry-material stability does not establish the shelf life of a prepared solution.
It is the stated quantity per unit, separate from the number of units in the bottle. A purity percentage is not a measurement of milligrams per capsule or tablet. Use the matching lot report for the measurements actually performed.
Open the linked certificate for the assigned lot or use the COA portal. Check sample identity, methods, date and reported measurements. A report for another lot or formulation is not a substitute.
The references describe the materials and conditions used by their authors. They do not establish that this commercial formulation was tested. For blends, evidence on an individual component does not validate the finished mixture or establish synergy.
