Disguised Alpha LoveWell PT-141 and Oxytocin research spray bottle

Prepared by Disguised Alpha Β· Reviewed November 6, 2026 Β· Editorial standards

A quick definition

PT-141 / Oxytocin spray is a formulation containing two peptides with different receptor targets. PT-141 is bremelanotide, a melanocortin receptor agonist. Oxytocin acts through the oxytocin receptor. LoveWell is the Disguised Alpha research-only version, labeled with 10 mg of each peptide in a 15 mL bottle.

The combined name should not be shortened to β€œoxytocin spray” when identifying the material in a laboratory record: that loses the second ingredient. Likewise, the phrase β€œPT-141 spray” does not tell a reader that oxytocin is present.

Reading the LoveWell formula

Label field Meaning
PT-141 per bottle 10 mg, labeled
Oxytocin per bottle 10 mg, labeled
Combined peptide content 20 mg total; 10 mg of each component
Fill volume 15 mL
Labeled spray count 100
Labeled amount per spray 100 mcg PT-141 + 100 mcg oxytocin
Mass ratio 1:1 PT-141 to oxytocin; not a statement of equal biological activity
Calculated concentration Approximately 0.667 mg/mL of each peptide; approximately 1.333 mg/mL combined

Record each component separately. A 20 mg combined total does not mean 20 mg PT-141 plus 20 mg oxytocin. The mass ratio is 1:1, but equal mass does not imply equal molar concentration, potency or receptor activity. See the label and COA guide for the calculation checks.

What the published studies actually examined

Evidence source What was studied What it does not establish
PT-141 research Diamond et al., 2004 evaluated intranasal PT-141 in healthy men and men with erectile dysfunction, with placebo comparison. The paper did not evaluate oxytocin added to PT-141 or the LoveWell product.
Oxytocin trial Muin et al., 2015 studied 30 women in a randomized crossover trial. Both oxytocin and placebo groups improved over time, without a significant treatment effect. The findings do not establish that an oxytocin-containing blend is effective.
Oxytocin study in couples A 2014 study in 29 couples reported some small-to-moderate changes in specific reported experiences, but not in drive, arousal, erection or lubrication. A limited result for one endpoint is not a general performance claim or evidence about this blend.
Receptor biology An oxytocin-receptor experiment examined G-protein coupling and intracellular calcium signaling. A receptor experiment is not a finished-product clinical trial.

These sources answer different questions. One concerns pharmacology under a clinical research protocol; another concerns receptor signaling in an experimental system. Combining their findings in a narrative does not create experimental evidence for a combined formulation.

PT-141 versus oxytocin: keep the targets separate

PT-141 belongs to melanocortin research. Oxytocin belongs to oxytocin-receptor research. A laboratory can frame questions about each pathway, but a response in a mixed preparation cannot automatically be attributed to either component.

For a hypothesis involving a blend, interpretation depends on a suitable model and controls. Conceptually, those include a vehicle comparison, each ingredient studied separately and the combination, with independently defined endpoints. This is a framework for interpreting research, not a protocol or a claim that LoveWell has been validated for a particular assay.

Compare the peptides, terminology and evidence in detail.

Spray terminology is not proof of equivalence

Online terms such as β€œnasal spray,” β€œaerosol spray,” β€œmetered spray” and β€œspray kit” are often grouped together in searches. For research identification, the exact finished preparation matters. A kit may include separate materials; a finished formulation is already supplied in its stated format. Its vehicle, concentration, container and delivery system must be evaluated on their own documentation.

The Vyleesi label identifies a prescription bremelanotide injection, not a PT-141 / Oxytocin aerosol blend. Its regulatory approval and clinical findings should not be transferred to LoveWell.

What to document before interpreting a result

  1. Use the complete product and component names, including both peptides.
  2. Keep the label photograph and actual lot identifier with the record.
  3. Separate nominal bottle content, concentration and per-spray values.
  4. Match the test report to the supplied formulation and lot.
  5. Record what the method measures and what it leaves unanswered.
  6. Describe the experimental model and avoid extrapolating its findings to human outcomes.

A published paper and a COA serve different purposes. The paper supports a particular scientific observation. The COA reports measurements on the submitted sample. Neither replaces the other, and neither alone establishes every property of a finished spray.

Frequently asked questions

What does PT-141 / Oxytocin mean?

It identifies two separate peptides in one formulation: PT-141, also called bremelanotide, plus oxytocin. The name alone does not specify the amount, ratio, vehicle or spray output.

Why is PT-141 also called bremelanotide?

PT-141 is its development name; bremelanotide is the nonproprietary name. A shared ingredient name does not make different preparations equivalent.

What does the nasal-spray literature tell us about LoveWell?

It provides background on studies using intranasal preparations of individual peptides. Those studies did not test this finished LoveWell blend, so their outcomes cannot be assigned to this product.

Does this guide establish a benefit from combining the peptides?

No. A proposed relationship between signaling systems is a research question. It does not demonstrate synergy, compatibility or clinical benefit for a finished combination.

Can a study’s onset or duration be applied to this spray?

No. Time measurements depend on the tested formulation, route, population and endpoint. This guide does not establish a human onset, duration or dosing schedule for LoveWell.

Is the research spray a prescription medicine?

No. LoveWell is a laboratory research product, not an approved prescription preparation. It must not be substituted for a prescribed medicine.

Is 100 mcg per spray the concentration?

No. It is the labeled per-actuation amount for each peptide. Concentration is an amount per liquid volume, such as mg/mL.

Where are the current product facts?

The LoveWell product listing contains the current catalog specifications. The supplied label and matching lot documentation are the references for the actual material received.
