Kisspeptin is the name for a family of peptides. They are cut from the protein made by the KISS1 gene. In 2001, these peptides were found to act on the receptor GPR54, now called KISS1R (Ohtaki et al., 2001; Kotani et al., 2001).
Kisspeptin-54, also called metastin, has 54 residues. Kisspeptin-10 is its last ten, residues 45 to 54. It ends in an RFamide motif, and its C-terminal amide is needed for activity. Matrix metalloproteinases cut it at its Gly-Leu bond. After that cut, the peptide no longer acts on the receptor (Takino et al., 2003).
In Chinese hamster ovary cells expressing rat or human GPR54, kisspeptins bound with low nanomolar affinity. They set off PIP2 hydrolysis, calcium release and MAP kinase phosphorylation (Kotani et al., 2001).
Labs study kisspeptin for its role in neuroendocrine signaling. Models look at GnRH activity, pituitary signaling and gonadotropin pathways.
Many sellers say their products are "third-party tested." Testing only counts when the labs can be trusted and someone checks the data. We vetted each lab partner ourselves before we started work with them.
Batch records are checked for identity, purity and test data before release. Testing is one part of a wider quality system. That system covers holding suppliers to account, batch review, internal QA, storage and in-house shipping.
Researchers should be able to check the standards we state. Learn more about the independent labs we work with:
Published lot certificates are in the COA portal. For study summaries and full sources, read the kisspeptin research guide.
We do not use a 3PL, a third-party logistics warehouse. Our in-house team processes, inspects, packs and ships every order.
That gives us tighter control. It covers order accuracy, packing, storage and the customer experience. Our goal is not to be the cheapest research supplier. We aim to supply clean, well-handled compounds with real quality checks behind them.

Yes. Kisspeptins are a family of neuropeptides encoded by the KISS1 gene, first described in 1996 as a melanoma metastasis-suppressor gene. In 2001 they were identified as natural ligands of the receptor GPR54, now also called KISS1R: a 54-residue peptide named metastin and shorter fragments that share its C-terminal RF-amide motif.
Length. Kisspeptin-54, also called metastin, is the full 54-residue peptide; kisspeptin-10 is its C-terminal decapeptide (residues 45 to 54), the smallest endogenous kisspeptin, and binds KISS1R with similar affinity. The formula this page lists, C₆₃H₈₃N₁₇O₁₄ at 1302.4 g/mol, is kisspeptin-10's, and the two ILS certificates on this page show vials labeled 10 mg.
As studied, it activates the receptor KISS1R, also called GPR54, mainly on gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) neurons in the hypothalamus, upstream of the pituitary. In male rats, 77 percent of GnRH neurons carried receptor transcripts, and kisspeptin had no effect in mice lacking the receptor. One rat study read part of the response to systemic kisspeptin as a direct pituitary action.
No. Drugs@FDA lists no product containing kisspeptin or metastin. The kisspeptin on this page is sold strictly for laboratory research, not as a medicine.
Match the selected product option and assigned shipping lot to the corresponding report in the COA portal. Check the compound or components, sample identification, test date, methods and results actually reported. Results for another lot or formulation are not a substitute.
No. Analytical purity and measured content are different measurements. Compare labeled quantity with measured content only where the report provides a compatible result and unit.
